A short-stay plan for Japan: unlimited data for 3 days, at $7.22. It is sized for a stopover, a weekend or a quick business trip, when a full-length plan would mostly go unused.
With no data cap, the plan is priced on time rather than volume, so it suits people who stream, video-call home or share a hotspot with a laptop. Check the fair-use note above if you expect very heavy use.
Of the 55 plans we sell for Japan, prices start at $0.48, so this one sits in the upper half.
Staying longer? The cheapest plan that lasts beyond 3 days is 100 MB for 7 days, at $0.48.
When the eSIM first connects to a network in Japan, not when you buy it. So you can buy and install it before you travel without the clock starting.
Yes. This eSIM carries data only. Your usual SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and you choose which line uses mobile data.
No. It is a one-off purchase of $7.22. When the data or the 3 days run out, it simply ends — no card is kept on file to charge again.
Most iPhones from the XS onward and most recent Android flagships do, but the phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. On iPhone, look under Settings › General › About for "Digital SIM" or "Available SIM"; on Android, search Settings for "eSIM".
Buy the plan in the Go2Calls app and the eSIM is ready straight away. On your phone, add a new eSIM and scan the QR code the app shows you — on iPhone under Settings › Mobile Data › Add eSIM, on Android under Settings › Network › SIMs. When you arrive in Japan, switch mobile data to the new eSIM and turn on data roaming for that line only. Your usual SIM keeps handling calls and texts.
